# Component categories

PCPartsPicker organizes PC components into distinct categories, making it easy to build a complete system. Each category contains components that work together to create your custom PC.

## Core components

These are the essential components required for any PC build:

### CPU

The processor is the brain of your computer. PCPartsPicker includes CPUs from major manufacturers including:
